The Difference Between a Fitness Coach and a Personal Trainer
Fitness coaches help clients reach their physical fitness goals. Learn the difference between a fitness coach and a personal trainer to decide which role is right for you.
A PT has more responsibilities, such as learning clients’ medical histories for risk prevention and conducting in-person training sessions. But a fitness coach can work with clients remotely, too.
Personalized Workouts
When a person gets bored with their workout routine they can work with a trainer to change it up. Instead of the same old crunches they can introduce an exercise like elbow plank that works different ab muscles. This variety will prevent them from getting into a fitness rut.
A personal trainer will also create an effective workout that is suited to the client’s needs and limitations. For example, if they are recovering from knee or back injuries an expert will avoid exercises that can aggravate those areas of the body.
A tailored workout will also be a healthier option because it will not harm the body over the long term. This approach will yield better results than one-size-fits-all workouts that many people find ineffective at gyms.
Accessible Resources
Fitness instructors can use digital resources to reach a wider audience than their in-person offerings. This approach allows them to increase their outreach while avoiding the costs and time commitment of maintaining a physical space. Moreover, these online resources are often more accessible to people with disabilities than in-person workouts at traditional facilities.
The primary objective of this study is to assess how frequently disability-friendly accessibility terms appear in YouTube fitness videos when searching general PA terms. The secondary aims are to ascertain whether there was any change in this content during the COVID-19 pandemic and highlight any disparities in accessing PA opportunities on YouTube for people with disabilities, if any exist. Additionally, this resource lists helpful tips for making your own YouTube videos more accessible.
Fresh Perspective
A positive outlook can help you achieve your goals. It can even reduce stress and prevent negative thinking patterns from spreading to other areas of your life. Having a fresh perspective can also eliminate misunderstandings and improve your relationships with others.

A trainer can introduce you to new workouts and exercise equipment. For example, a trainer might use high-intensity interval training, different strength training methods or exercises using water-filled balls to challenge your body in unique ways. This can be a fun and exciting way to stay motivated and achieve your goals.
